Question Nvidia system tools for overclocking

i was wondering if anyone out there is familiar with the overclocking capabilities of Nvidia's System Tools- i'm wondering if there is an automatic overclocking option available in System Tools that can be used (like there was in the older nTune software).

if there isn't an automatic option available, my next step would be to figure out how to adjust the settings manually to get the best overclock possible for my hardware- something i'm not very familiar with doing.

this is what i am working with:
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Motherboard
Athlon64 4000+ CPU
2x BFG Geforce 7800GTX OC
2x 1GB RAM (can't remember the specs)

any help here would be greatly appreciated.

For your GPU use Rivatuner. Works like a charm. You can set fan speed profiles and task bar launchers.

For overclocking your CPU, use the BIOS.

I use Nvidia system tools to overclock 2, 3 and 4 GPU systems. I use EVGA Precision to calculate what the "linked" setting should be. Then I input those settings into Nvidia system tools, set fan speed (70%+ for OC's), click apply then close. A window will popup asking if you want the utility to keep the settings the next time Windows restarts. Click "yes"

After I restart my PC all the cards in the system are set to the same settings.

Works like a charm!

is there such a tool that would allow me to calculate the best overclocking settings for all my hardware (CPU, motherboard, video card, RAM) so i can adjust the settings safely?

is there a how-to guide available anywhere for overclocking the same/similar hardware that i have listed? i want to get the best overclock i possbily can out of this but i am new at this and don't know where to start.

I use evga precision tool for overclocking my gtx 260. It works great, and u can easily set profiles, unlink gpu/shader clocks, set fan speed. It works with every nvidia card i think. It has OSD, too.

Rivatuner is great, but a bit more complicated.

fill in all your system specs here
user control panel, edit system

then start a new thread asking how to overclock your cpu, and im sure you will get help very quickly, you will get a guide on how to best to go about it, what temps are safe for your cpu, advice on voltages etc.

There is no actual way of calculating automatic overclocking settings for your CPU, RAM, etc. You could do this with ATI cards, AFAIK. But in the end you must experiment with a mixture of good RAM timings, a balance of FSB and Vcore on your CPU, and Core/Shader/Memory on your GPU.
