Like I've said before. Flashing is risky no matter how you do it. If you're not prepared for the risks don't mod.

What is the -4 -5 -6 for, and is it required?

It forces the card to accept the bios. Ussually, it's not required, but I've had it reject on me before and by just always using -4 -5 -6 you never see it reject.

When it comes to voltages, each card may act a little differently. I would not touch voltage unless you have a digital multimeter to test the changes with. Hardmods seem to be more effective with voltage then softmods.

-4 is to override flash protection. Which can also be bypassed with --protectoff. I forget what -5 and -6 are off the top of my head. At work on a Linux lappy and can't look. If you open nvflash and type "dir" you will get a list of the commands. Commands with "-" are short form and can be used in the same line with your flash command and commands with "--" are the long form and are meant to be used individually.

What's the advantage of doing it? (I mean flashing bios and tweaking voltage)

Any difference in performance compared to default bios and voltage?

If voltage change work with the BIOS mod you can OC your card more, but the voltage mod normally doesn't give the desired result.
Quote:
NOTE: I recommend buying a Digital Multimetter and physically monitoring any change to voltage. Some cards do not like BIOS voltage changes.

Fan speeds and higher clocks are the main reasons most ppl flash their cards. Increased clock speeds will yield greater performance.
