Hi,
I just downloaded and installed windows 7 RC and it seems there's a problem. I'm using a 1920x1200 LCD and I can't set the refresh rate to 60. I'm using the new NVIDIA WHQL driver for windows 7 (185.85) (I tried older drivers, the same problem) 60 Hz is available in the list in NVIDIA Control Panel, but when I select it and click Apply, it will go back to 59. I tried "magange custom resolutions". didn't work either. Is it possible to force refresh rate through registry or by an application?

I've seen someone around here with the same issue a you.
Just asking, but why bother? 1Hz doesn't make any noticable difference at all. My guess is that it could be a Windows/nVidia driver related issue. I have Windows 7 installed on my laptop, but it uses an ATI HD2600 I can check it out later after I get home to see if I have the same issue.

well I play PES 2009 a lot, and the game has some problems with 59 Hz refresh rate (a big horizontal artifact!)
I need to set the refresh rate to 60, or I should go to Vista whenever I want to play.

Just by searching google for "Windows 7 59Hz" it shows quite a few websites reporting the same issue! Apparently... It's windows' fault on this one, since even people with ATI cards experience the same problem.
As far as I know, Win 7 Build 7000 (Public beta) did not have these kind of issues. I've read a bit more, it only happens when using ATI drivers (new WDDM 1.1), with windows built in driver it doesn't happen.

I just confirmed. During the evening I installed Windows 7 on my sig rig and using the latest drivers.
On both my systems the same issue happens! On the laptop with the HD2600, it always resets to 59Hz, and on the desktop with 2 9800GX2 same thing happens.
