I have and EVGA and Precision but what do I use to scan for artifacts?

I use ATI Tool. It has a built in 3D spinning cube app thingy that works and runs constantly and tells you your FPS. If any artifacts show up it will be ther.e I reccommend running that and trying to run crysis. Crysis will push the card as well. ATI TOOL + Crysis.

How much should I increment the core or memory clock each time

I usually go 5 MHz at a time. SOmetimes if I feel cocky I go up to 10. But the safest bet is 5 MHz. Same thing for Overclocking your CPU. Go up incrementally by 5 Mhz on the FSB.
