When I open up Rivatuner it won't allow me to overclock my GTX 260. I am currently running the latest drivers and I have tried reinstalling them. I am also using Windows 7 x64 Build 7229.
I have a picture attached of the problem I am having. SOLUTION:

ok go to power user then go to rivatuner/system its the first tab go down to forcedriverversion and manually type in the driver without the dot aka 18618 and make sure the bulb is lit with a check mark. restart your pc.

It wasn't working on my folding rig either, which has two 9800GTX's so I don't think it is. Thanks for the help! REP+

You can always try also EVGA Precision if you want to.

I also figured out how to make my fan speed go dynamic and I can manually change the temp max and min max fan speed and it works great. go to power user Rivatuner/fan and put the value 3 after autospeedfancontrol Now when you go to fan contol settings and select auto you can double click on the values and change them min max fan speed, min max temp, etc experiment its fun and its dynamic.

I have the EXACT same problem but the procedure doesn't work for me and I didn't want to start a duplicate thread.
I do just as directed but when I key in 18618, the light bulb goes on but the checkmark will not stay checked. As soon as I go back to it, it's unchecked. I'm an Admin and UAC is shut off. Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to use Precision and I don't really want to try an older driver version. |
