Hey everyone, great forum! This is my first post, and before I go on, I'm a total noob when it comes to overclocking. I've never done it before, and I'm just using step by step tutorials to tell me how to do it so I don't mess anything up!
Okay, so then... I have tried using just about every overclocking software I have found so far... Coolbits, RivaTuner, and nForce (or something like that). All of them have not worked. I don't know what it is with my laptop... I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion dv6000, and inside the laptop there is a nVidia GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M -- or so my NVIDIA Control Panel's System Information says. What is weird is that all the overclocking software I download all seem to have the same sort of problem... a problem it seems nobody else has. I'm using EVGA Precision right now, and the Core Clock is set to, by default, 425. The Memory Clock, by default, is at 0. I can slide the slider in the Core Clock setting to anything I want, from 320 to 680. However, when I click "Apply", regardless of what I have set it to, the Core Clock always reverts immediatly back to 425. The Memory Clock, on the other hand, I cannot even slide that at all. Shader Clock and Fan Speed, as well as the "Test" buttons are all grayed out also. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I've been on multiple different Forums over the past week trying to ask for help, and so far, nobody has replied to my threads. Just please guys, I have absolutely no clue as to what is wrong, because I cannot find anyone on the 'net who has a similar problem to mine. |

I've never experienced your particular problem, but I will say that I have never met with success when trying to overclock laptop video cards.

well, I assume that since you have a laptop and the video card is integrated, it will not have any memory, it will use the computers memory. Thats why you cant overclock that. I also experience problems with EVGA precision though. Mine involves the fan though. If i try to turn up the fan speed, i like to run it at 100% when i'm folding, it will go up, then go right back to where it was before i changed it. It looks like that is a more common problem than i realized.
