Hey guys I want to push my system with Crysis. I do want as much eye candy as PC can handle.
__________________Here is the thing. I tried the XTreme-G 185.81 drivers because someone posted that he uses them and they run just about any game and it looked and played amazing on his GTX 285 and his system. For Crysis, yes it looked amazing at 1280x1024 and 8X AA and wow I was getting 30 FPS and sometimes just under 30 fps. I can't really explain it but the it was really good performance. All my drivers settings were set for best quality too, includding 16x AF, however these drivers got me a lot of glitches everywhere and it was not the overclock. I tried the latest official drivers and also the beta drivers 190.56 and you can still see some glitches in this game but it's much better. However ***. 4X AA and 8X AA looks just the same and 8X even gives better performance in some places. Also I believe these drivers gave me a little better performance than 185.81 drivers but Crysis looks so much better with the XTreme-G 185.81 drivers, if it wasn't because this game runs with so many glitches with those drivers I would sue them. I guess I could try the official 185.x drivers to see how it looks and runs. I know 8X AA works fine there. So that's why i'm posting. I want the best eye candy like I said. So I want quality drivers but without so many glitches. Which drivers are you guys using for Crysis? And why does this game have lots of graphics glitches?. Like I said, I'm not talking about artifacts that you see when you oc. I even lowered the clocks to GTX 280 speed to see if it was just the card but the glitches still there. Of course with the latest drivers it looks ok and with very few glitches. I'm using the latest patch for the game too.

Normally the newest drivers are the best.

Not for everyone though. Im using the X-G 185.81's also and then run by far better for me than the newest drivers.

Yeah the X-G 185.81's gave me lots of glitches in crysis. The game looked amazing though and it looks like 8x AA works like it should. I installed official 186.18 now and well 8X AA still is not a big performance hit compared to 4X AA at 1280x1024. It looks about the same. I compared both of them and I could not really see the difference. However when you run the benchmark you can totally see the difference and also the performance hit. The game does look sweet at 8X AA and it does not go under 30 FPS where I tested it so far. It does not look as sweet as the X-G 185.81's 8X AA though. The game still has the normal glitches that I see with every driver though. **Edit** I'm sticking with 186.18 official for now. I found a way to force 16X AF and damn! It looks so much better, also a way to force 8X AA and at 1280x1024 it's playable for me. Under very heavy explotions and and with so much crap going on the screen, it went down to about 22FPS but normally it's always over 30 FPS. This game looks so much better with some tweaks The in game High Quality settings are not good enough.
