Hi all,

i got a problem to install driver for 7950gx2. I formatted my computer, and reinstall the XP. When i was tried to install the driver for 7950gx2 ,the screen became blank(all black). I have tried many different version drivers, but none of them work. Does anyone know what happen? the 7950gx2 problem? mb problem? plz help!

Have you tried booting into safe mode? - press F8 as Windows firsts starts - This will default to a standard SVGA mode. You should be able to go into device manager and remove delete the 7950gx2 or attempt to install alternate drivers.

yes i did. just doesnt work at all, screen goes blank again during the installation.

Does it not display anything at all or it displays things until you start to install the drivers?

I can able to see thing at 800*600 resolution before install driver.
Then, the monitor black out in the middle of the installation. Any idea of what happen to my computer?

Well that can be normal, that happened to me today when I installed drivers for my 4870, but it only goes blank for like 5-10 seconds.

How long does the screen stay blank, or once it goes blank do you just turn off the computer?

i have waited over 15mins for the installation, and the computer have no respond until i restart it. after the restart, the screen black out again when going in to the windows. The only way i can do is uninstall the driver in safe mode.
