Default 8800gt's on maximus 2 formula

I'm tring to run 2 8800gt's on my maximus 2 board, 1 as a graphics, 1 as dedicated physics, whit the board being a crossfire board is this possible?

Yes, you can do that. The only thing you can't do is run them in SLi.

Yes. But 8800GT would be a bit overkill for Physx. But yes, you can do it.

any ideas how, I started by putting both cards in, system booted fine. installed the latest driver, system needed reboot and won't load into windows, I get the windows bat going then it disapears and the system freezes

I do not think you can have the same model card for dedicated physx and for your main display. it has to be something different like an 8600.

so my second 8800gt is the problem, I also have one of the old pci agiea cards with 128m on it...it that worth running untill i get a diff card

If you run games with physx then yes id say. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
