Default 9800GTX+ Flash To GTS250 For Voltage Tuner?

Sorry for the cryptic title.

I'm not into hardware mods and a BIOS flash is even pushing things but I'm wondering if I were flash the BIOS on my 9800GTX+ to make it register as a GTS250 will EVGA's Voltage Tuner application work?

One article not only flashed the BIOS but successfully ran the card with a full fledge GTS250 in SLI without any problems but I cannot find anything about using Voltage Tuner on it afterwards.

My temperatures stay at 56 degrees under full load while at the maximum overclock possible using stock voltage with the fan at 80% so I'm curious to see how much further it could go with some extra juice.

The GTS250 is not a supported card for GVT. So..no, will not work.
GVT will only work on cards with digital power management.

Not unless you need to for SLi with another GTS 250. There's a slight chance the drivers may run a little different. The only difference I see is you lose "HybridPower Technology" and "GeForce Boost" by upgraging to a GTS250. Does anyone really use them anyways?

...might not work though..

GTX = 4x power phases and 2x PCI-E 6pin's
GTS = 2x power phases [meh thinks] and 1x PCI-E 6pin

...I dont know for certain, if the differences in the power circuitry will goof the flash...I am very curious though..if you are willing to try.

Some GTS's like the one from Galaxy offer 2x PCI-E 6pins for overclocking purposes
