Default Overclocking questions...?

I have 8400m gs in my lappy. Can I overclock it ?. Which latest driver will be the best ?. Is it safe ?. When playing game , it hits max temp of 68 C. I have tried using riva tuner & Evga precision , but when I move the sliders & click apply, they go back to default settings. My current forceware driver is 180.43 with modded inf file. What can I do now ?

^ this.

Laptops are meant to conserve energy. So if you go upping the power consumption on your GPU then your gonna be depleating the battery much quicker and your also gonna add extra heat in your little lappy. Heat inside a lappy is not good. There is not much air flow to begin with so you may end up overheating other internals and killing the whole lappy all together. Loose loose situation.
