Default Overclocking my SLI GTX280s

Hi all,

I'm starting to get confused so I figured I would start from scratch.

I have 2 BFG GTX280s. What is the best way to overclock them, increase voltage, and stability test? Note that they are running in SLI so I need something that can stability test the pair.

The reason I don't want to use 3DMark Vantage or 06 as a stability test is because I have to sit in front of it the whole time and make sure it's not artifacting.

So recap - overclocking, voltage tuning, and stability testing (with error detection) for the SLI pair?

Doable?

If not then what is the best alternative?

Thanks!

Currently have them at 740/1480/1200 in EVGA Precision but I'd like to go further so voltage tuning is a must.

THIS ^ The voltage tuner will work well.

Also to do it with 2 cards, use rivatuner since it is easier or use the EVGA thing.

In my experience, with the voltage tuner, it only comes in handy at high clocks and you need to keep the cards really cool for it to be of benefit. I'd try going as high as you can without raising voltage. Once you can't go any higher, then give it a shot. With my gtx 260, I only needed to bump the voltage somewhere around 770 core. It also helped get the shaders to 1620 and 1674. Sli might make it more difficult to clock them high, but I've never used multiple cards.

It seems that you have the necessary cooling, now just need to figure out when voltage is needed.

Thanks guys, but I have BFG cards, not EVGA, which means voltage tuner won't work. I know there's some sort of hack but I think that's only for version 1.0... anyone?

Using EVGA Precision for setting clocks, so that I don't need help with .

Yup, cooling is great, never more than 43C load on either card. Now need to start raising some voltage . I'm aiming high for these cards. Overclocking them has made much more of a difference than OCing my i7 has, since its bandwidth is much higher than my previous C2Q.

Ya, the patch only works with EVGA VT 1.0 . The patch won't work on anything newer than 1.0

So... any ideas on the best/easiest way to tweak my voltage without flashing BIOS?

Basically, bump lol.

Tried evga voltage tuner w/ patch but it's not working great. Although GPU-Z tells me the voltage is higher, I don't really feel like I'm getting anything out of the extra voltage... just a slightly higher OC and I get artifacts even at 1.4v. Also 3DMark Vantage FPS drop by 50% in the 1st test..

Also, GPU-Z is telling me the VDDC current for my first card is ~60A but for the second card it's only ~15A. They're both GTX280s. Is that right? Running ATI Tool stability test at the moment.
