Oh, alright. Cool. So the reason it's called a Pencil Mod is because there are a few motherboards out there that people have found which resistor to apply lead to in order to reduce or even eliminate the vDroop. They actually took the time to figure it out. Unfortunately, I don't know whether or not the MSI P35 Platinum has a known Pencil Mod for it. But if it does, I bet there are several people here on OCN who know about it. Likewise, if it doesn't, then people are sure to know about it.

But, every motherboard has a different amount of vDroop, and I think the CPU might play a role too. And this amount here isn't THAT large. I've seen worse posted on here. Besides, there's nothing wrong with compensating for the vDroop by raising the voltage. Not only that, but the maximum voltage for this CPU is about 1.55V, but I think it's the idle voltage - although I am not entirely sure.

Either way: it's all good.

I know but the vDroop is not helping me in my search for stable 3.0 with temp below 70 (IntelBurn Test)
I need a higher voltage (due to vDroop) to hit stable 3.0 and that will make my CPU hot (it is a model that is hard to OC without the heat.. I know that the vDroop isnt all to blame for the hot cores.. but it dosnt help ether..!

But the voltage that's being used in order to compensate for the vDroop isn't going to be generating heat - at least not the kind of heat that will be generated by the voltage that it droops down to upon full load. So, vDroop or not, the temps will still be the same regardless due to the fact that it will still need the same amount of voltage while under load.

true.. dont know much about this subject.. thats why I asked if it was a manual replacement of the resistor or a software thing..

anyways.. back to the problem.. just played fallout 3 for 2 hours.. no problems.. well that isnt 100% true.. white text (the clock/date on taskbar) seams "once again" pinkish.. and im now wondering if this might be doe to eye ajustment? :S that would be wierd and even more off topic :S think im gonna let the game run for 30 min or so with me doing something else (take a bath or what ever) and come back, shut down game and see if it is a computer thing or just my eyes..

god, this has become a totaly wierd thread.. hope someone is atleast getting a good laugh

Whoa. This is looking like it's a bit over my head. I mean, I can only make guesses at this point because I don't have the experience to draw from. However, it seems like people like my guesses.

So, perhaps it's either the power supply just being a piece of crap, or it's another bad card. I guess that wouldn't surprise me since I've seen other people speak negatively about XFX's cards. Is there any possibility that you can switch to a different brand of card, such as EVGA?

Hmm. If you see the pink text in Windows again, then see if a screenshot will capture it. If it does, then you can post it using that Manage Attachments feature on here.

Anyway, I'm not all that special. I mean, I just have tons of time on my hands.

!!SOLVED!!

I have this problem every time I quit Fallout 3 after playing 60 min or so.. realy wierd!?!?!!
I just did that and all small white text was lookin' pinkish again.. I god a bit sad and turned my head twards the TV.. and the subtitles was pinkish too!!
This is a clear (90% sure) case of eye ajustment..
****ing odd!.. could this be bad for my eyes? only happens in fallout3

Either this is normal, or you might have a weird set of eyes.
