I jumped from MSI 9800GT to XFX GTX275 wich comes with assassins creed.. The game ran fine the first 4 days with a crash or two.. didnt worrie about it at first.. but now I can only play for like 5 min before: 1: the computer freezes and reboots 2: the image turns purble ish or some picture overdrives the image..
I tried to format my C: and reinstall XP, the game and the drivers.. nothing helps The GPU runs Idle: 45~ Load 80~.. I read that this is normal.. so guessing that overheating is not the problem..Stuff to know: The card reqires 2x6pin PCIe connectors, I olny have one.. the other is provided by a 2x4pin(12v) -> 1x6pin(PCIe), both the 4pin(12v) is connected to the same cord comming from the PSU (dont got another 4pin(12v) cord) I updated my bios from 1.1 to 1.9 resently.. I tryed to go back to bios 1.6.. no changes.. The first pic shows the readings from rivatuner when the graphic truns from fine to purbleish (pic 3) dont know is this is due to alt+tab or if it is what caurses the image problems.. Is the a RMA case or? Spec: M/B: MSI P35 Platinum (Bios 1.9) CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2,4 GHz Ram: OcZ 2 x 2 GB DDR2 Dual Channel GPU: XFX GTX 275 core edition @ 640 MHz Drivers from xfxforce.com (191.07) Tried with nvidia (191.07) PSU: TermalTech ThougPower 750W OS: Windows XP (sp3) 32bit

So both the 4-Pin Molex adaptors on the PCI-E adaptor are connected to 1 Molex lead from your PSU?
Could be that your Card simply isn't getting enough power. I find it weird that a 750w psu has only 1 x 6Pin PCI-E most should have at least 2.

Can you post a picture of the way the video card is connected to the PSU? And I mean I'd like to see which cables you're talking about.

Y'know, when I went from the 9800 GTX+ to my current GTX 260, I had to do some exhaustive work to re-stabilize my overclock, so perhaps something similar is happening for you. I mean, I know your system isn't overclocked at all, but perhaps you need to manually increase some voltages, such as the Northbridge (MCH) and Southbridge (ICH) voltages. After all, you made quite a huge upgrade there.

Increase your fan speed to 65%. That should bring down your temps a lot. and FYI, you can probably go to 666 core @ 100% fan lol.

the thermaltake toughpower 750w from what I gather is
Quote:
# 24-pin Main Connector x 1 # 4-pin +12V Power Connector x 1 # 4-pin Floppy Drive Connector x 2 # 6-pin PCI Express Connector x 2 # 8-pin +12V Power Connector x 1 # 4-pin Peripheral Power Connector x 8 # 5-pin S-ATA Connector x 6 So I am stumped as how you think you only have 1 6pin PCI-E

My motherboard is MSI P35 Platinum: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=pro...=&prod_no=1212 dose not support PCI 2.0 but that shouldnt be a problem.. the BIOS says: NB: 1.25v SB I/O Power: 1.5v SB Core Power: 1.05v Can I find info on my GTX275 card what to change it to? Overclock info.. I think this mobo isnt too great with overcloacking (this is for info so you can help me better.. sorry if it is kinda offtopic) I have to downclock my CPU from the standard 333x9 to 333x7 so I hit the 2.4 ghz.. 333x9 will crash the pc when I start playing (2 min in) none of the graphic bugs though.. also this was the same problem with my old 9800gt so this might not have anything to do with the problems im having now.. right?
