I have flashed my XFX 6800GT AGP to 1.4volts 400/1000, and I have artifacts and absurd graphical issues with 3d programs. I can't even run 3dMark06; the test loads, freezes, and sometimes displays odd geometry. I have lowered it down using Coolbits and can't get it to accept the test at any more than 370/970 or so. Am I doing something wrong? I have seen quite a few super400 clocks that people are getting and I'd like to see why I can't overclock this car at all. I thought it might be a power issue, but I have it on its own line to an Aerocool Turbine 550watt PSU. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you downclock the ram from the stockk 1000 to 970??? Different cards overclock differently you cant expect every card to overclock like a monster... mine gets 30 or core and 30 on mem to be stable...

Coolbits won't pass a test with the RAM going at 1000mhz, which doesn't make sense to me since that's what the card is stock clocked for I thought. Anyway, I just tested it and can't get any higher than 375/990. This doesn't seem normal.

1.4volts is a bit too high for 6800 series. Try lowering it to 1.3 or to the stock, 1.2 (I assume stock is 1.2)
Mine died (I think) because of too much volts. 1.5 was i running at, stock was 1.1

Stock is 1.3v I believe. Do you think this will help me get higher? I have seen people post about their card going higher on 1.4v and wasn't sure why mine couldn't

What about cooler then? I don't know about XFXs 6800GT. I had a Leadtek A400LE (6800LE chip) which died of 1.5 volts.

I'm using the NV Silencer 5 rev. 3, so I think I'm ok, lol. It rarely gets over 45 degrees. I wonder if my card is slower than others for some reason. I have never had as high heat as I've read other people having even with the stock cooler, I can't over clock it, and I never get similar benchmarks to others I've read about in AquaMark or 3dmark.

Your ram should run @ 1000 by default... You deffinately have a problem... Maybe try to get heatsinks for the ram?

Well I got the NV Silencer 5 which covers the ram modules pretty well front and back. Would increasing the voltage to 1.4v make it more sensitive to overclocking and less likely to permit a higher clock?

Raising voltage gives you better overclocking as long as cooling is sufficient. From the looks of it, you have trouble running stock speeds so I would not increase the voltage.
