Default How mines running

Hi, Just landed my 88 a few days ago. this is how it's running on a 4400+ x2 at 2.6.

Love it, Armed assualt is probably the hardest game on the PC at the moment and it's now running all out maxed at 1280x1024. I think the 88 drivers are pretty imature so really looking forward to 3-4months and playing with this in vista with some more solid software. temps 53-78 so far. everything stock cooling.

Has anyone done anything to modify the heat sinks at all? replaced the thermal pads on the memory? Put arctic silver 5 on the heat spreader?

Aside from going to water cooling, is anything to be done? My card idles at 63 celsius!

Is it just me or when I run a game with my Evga 8800gts all on auto fan and stock mode, the fan never reaches 100%. When I OC it i obviously want the Fan to increase but still fan never seems to get going as fast as it should on auto. Do people out there just turn theirs on 100% 24/7? Its fairly loud to have going 100% when your comp is just idling. Does keeping the fan at 100% risk shortening the life of it?

So is it normal to get 7753 in 3Dmark06 with 8800 and Dual-Core ??

I have my system running on factory defults, no overclocking to any component!

AMD 64 x2 4600 running @ 2.4 Ghz
Gainward GeForce 8800GTS running @ 513/1600

Yeah that's good. The 4600 is still holding you back but overclocking should fix that.

Yeah, I overclocked the CPU to 2.6Ghz and the 8800gts to 540Mhz/1700Mhz and ran 3Dmark06 again and scored 8183
