Hey Guys, I've been following this for a while and I've got a really stupid question.. So please bare with me while I ask it

I Have 2 X 8800GTX's 768MB in SLI that run standard 576Mhz Clock / 1348Mhz Sharder Clock / 900Mhz memory.

I can only get them as high as 616/1444/1002.

As soon as I go higher then the 616/1444/1002 my PC freezes in game or on the desktop. I'm under Vista 64bit and use ntune which i'm told I shouldn't.

What do you guys use/over voltage?/change to get those high clock speeds? My cards run after an long 2-3 hour game of TF2 at around 49-51'c.

It still locks up if I use Riva tuner from memory..

Just after some thoughts on how to go about getting some more juice out of em!

Cheers guys.

Default Is there something wrong with my card?

I have an evga 8800GTX 575/900 with an accelero xtreme 8800.

I can overclock the mem okay, at 1060 with no artifacts.

But I cant get the core above 604 or I get artifacts with atitool.

Is this normal? Do I need to change something else? My temps are -never- above 57c now. I would have thought I could be really stable a bit higher than this.

Also, I notice atitool may not artifact, but I see tearing in some games I play, like halflife 2. Is there another quick graphics test I can use besides atitool to see if I will get tearing? Running a game or 3d mark takes way too long.

Thanks!

I am in sort of this same boat...BFG OC. In ATI Tool adjusting anything causes artifacts...with RivaTuner I can move the shader separately.

I set my settings in RivaTuner and then run ATI .26 for artifacts.

I can't do over 600 core (stock for a BFG OC) which I think is odd that there is absolutely no head room, I can bump the shader all the way to 1450 and the memory to 1000. Good for breaking into 10k 3dMark06 with my Opteron 165 (at stock GPU settings I am at 9800-9900).

Temps are ok (I think)...peaks at 83C (hits about this same temp at stock clocks too).

I tried flashing to the OC2 BIOS hearing that it increases voltages...I couldn't run artifact free at all. I did not try to underclock that bios from 626/1450/1000...I don't know if I should just call it a day or not. I don't have much room to add a new HSF as I am about 3" away from the next PCI card now.

So, hope this is in the right place. A friend just got a 260 so i got his old 8800gts ssc edition. Thought i should update my profile if anyone cares and look into oc'n the gpu. well came across this thread and tried out atitool. i can't get past 4 seconds without artifacts at stock speeds. what gives? yesterday i had it oc'd with evga precision software @ 645c /1511s /1014m and was rockin some cod4. (love the 177.92) today i try atitool to see if i can get any more out of it and it artifacts immediately. any thoughts? should i even care if it seems to be fine in game.. i only care so i can post here. i want my 10 minutes!! xD

also, explain to me this: my old 8600gts ssc had stock 756c/ 2140m how the hell is the 8800gts so much better? beside having 2.5X the ram, and stream processors and 320bit ...n/m

hey guys ... my stock 8800gts 640mb idle temp sits at 66-67c .. isn't that high for what it should be... I've got a water cooled case with plenty of fans thru it also.. any thoughts on this?

this is my first post.

so im trying to read through all of these pages of overclocking my evga 8800 gtx superclocked video card and i guess with all the gts and gtx postings and the different versions or what not im getting all jumbled.

my question really comes to what is the best stable overclocking speeds i can attain from my video card (actually have two of them running sli and water-cooled) without performing the volt mod. do i use atitools as the program best to overclock my video card or is there something else?

thanks for any info.

what does this mean? It's saying no errors but I don't think that its a good thing because of what it says in the beginning. What does the "Delta of 161 in 2 pixels" mean? Also, my pc makes that noise that Vista makes when there is a problem, that lil beeping thing. This happens when i have my shader clock at 1370 mhz. My core clock is at 630 mhz and my memory is set at 1000 mhz
