Default The Final Decision. Please read.

Dun dun dunnnnn!

Now now, don't get TOO jealous over my GREAT graphics cards i have to choose from. [/sarcasm]

It's Nvidia FX5500 vs ATI Radeon 9200 Pro!

Woah! geez!

Anyway.
To play games like Counter-Strike Source, i want to get the best performance possible, annnd, i'm not sure which card i should use. Keeping in mind, i DON'T WANT GOOD VISUALS. I just want good performance. I've tried using the worst graphics possible on CSS with my Nvidia FX5500, but in some maps, i still lag, getting down to 4 fps.

I've installed all the updated/conrrect drivers for it.

I havn't used the ATI 9200 Pro much, because i thought Nvidia would be stronger, seeing as it has a fan..

Now, my question is, What Card should i use to get the better performance out of my games.
NnVidia FX5500, or ATI 9200 pro,

Please don't say "Go buy a new card" Because that's not an option, sorry.

Since you have both cards in front of you.... why not just benchmark? Find the best card for your games.

Well, that's the best way to figure out which is going to be better..and, you may only have to restart/remove drivers/reinstall card only twice....and that's if the second card you install doesn't win.

Sorry, but I think you could get an Ati Radeon 9250, if you sold both ! Great graphics card in terms of FPS and maxed performance. It didn't have super graphics, but it was so good "enough" that it was my video card up until 3 months ago ! (Oblivion was the first game I tried it couldn't play, but anyway you could still get the OLDblivion mod...)

Hmm, i just went into Rightclick desktop > Properties > Settings

And it says i have a RADEON 9250..

Soo, is this better than both of them like you was saying?

I just tried css, and on the stress test, the Nvidida got better FPS, but playing the game, the Radeon could play it High Graphics without much loss in FPS..

Double Post-

I'm pretty sure it's my CPU that's lacking, because i can run the graphics fine on High with noone on the screen, but when there is about..10 people on the screen shooting, that's when the FPS drops.

Maybe i need more ram?

Is it possible to get a ram stick?

Could very well be your CPU. HL2 runs very well on ATI cards, but not enough to catch up with an FX5500 - especially one running in DX8 mode.

How much RAM do you have? Any chance you can overclock your CPU past 2.66ghz?
