Default GPU upgrade, sli or new card/mobo?

I have 6800GS
and was thinking about buying another one to sli them.... however i only have a X8 speed when slied and was wondering if it was worth the upgrade or should i get 7 series card or wait for the 8 series cards price to drop.

The most im gona spend is $175

The 8X speed wont really slow down your system as it will never use all the bandwidth so I'd get another 6800GS and SLI

The 8x shared bandwidth you wont notice a drop in performance when in SLI. Your system Is looking good to me However I think it may be an Idea to look into a Single Nvidia 7 series card.

For $125, I don't think it is worth it for now. I would say wait until the entry and mid range DX cards come out. If they are cheap enough, just get one of those. If not, just buy off a 7900GT or something from someone upgrading. $125 is just not worth it for 6800GS performance now.

The other option is to just sell your current card. Use that money plus your $125 for a new single card for more perfomance

yep, you better wait, you can sell this one and use the money for the new 1.
I think 7600+ is good enough for extreme gaming, but if you really want to wait for the dx10, you should do that
