I recently got an 8800gtx, and had to upgrade my drivers, so I got the latest Firmware drivers 97.44, and i got the other program that goes with it to monitor temps, and OC your GPU, but everytime I startup I have to set my fan at 100% because it always resets, and also, if I OC my card, and restart my comp that resets as well, but it still keeps my quality settings and stuff, I believe it's just those addon drivers with the OC capabilities that are bugged, but I dont like having to set that crap everytime I start, and not being able to OC. Any suggestions?

Being 97.44 is recent driver so quite new, I'd try going back to the driver before it and see if you still encounter a problem. IF you do I'd also try other vendors of nvidia drivers and see what kind of results you find.
Other than that, that seems really odd because I'd think those settings are stored on harddrive. Just a guess, but maybe your motherboard battery is getting low, because maybe some of those settings are BIOS and are not getting saved. GOod Luck!

I take that back, it's not Firmware itself, it's that addon program that has all the OC and performance capabilities. nTune is what it's called, that is the program that stores all the fan and OC settings, because all of my quality and options under the "Adjust 3d settings" tabs all stay the way I put them, but it's just the crap that was added on by nTune, so I guess I should try messing with that prog

Hey Trainmanup, the fan issued that you are experiencing is normal. It is a problem with ntune not saving any of the settings after reset. There is a workaround for the fan issued that can be found here:http://www.overclock.net/1518011-post10.html
Also, you might want to check out the *Official* 88oo GTX/GTS Owners Club (top sticky). Has lots of good information about drivers, bugs we have found, and fixes. Good luck!
