pencil mods are for the 'qwk fix'

Bios flashing is for permanent 'fixed OC' startup clocks...better in conjunction w/ a soldered mod..as you know the "value" will not change.

OK so i read this thread and im gonna try to flash my evga 8800gt sc bios to a ssc version.. What i need to know is if and where there are spaces in between the the letters in these comand lines:

nvflash -b backup.rom" (Backup your BIOS)
"nvflash -5 -6 1.rom" (Normal BIOS Flash)
"nvflash -4 -5 -6 1.rom" (Forced BIOS Flash

From the looks of it theres blank spaces;
after the nvflash
after the -b, -5, -4
after the -6, -5
after the -6

Also will these commands work with the latest nvflash 5.57?

Am i correct?

When I tried coping nvFlash and cwsdpmi to floppy it told me the file where write protected and wouldn't let me copy them. How do I get around this?

Also, EVGA didn't have a BOIS listed for the 7300GT.

i'll be flashing my cards soon so i'll let you know if i run into any problems. i've managed a 24/7 stable 648 core/ 1585 shader (although ill flash to 1580 to be safe) and 1030 mem.

the thing i love about this, worst comes to worst....just flash back

Which software are you using to OC your card? 0.26 ATI tool doesn't show the shader clock. Well, it doesn't specify which is the shader clock.

Crap my floppy drive just quit on me. I read that this can be done through CD. How do I make a Cd bootable. I know when I use the Mem test I just burned it as an ISO file. Is that what I do with this to make it bootable?

What's cool about BIOS flashing a GPU is that, AS LONG AS YOU DON'T:
-Change memory timings
-Voltage

You can always flash back if something doesn't work, even if your BIOS gets corrupted, reflash it, a corrupted BIOS will not prevent your PC to boot, it will just prevent it from posting an image, you will simply blind flash or use a PCI Video Card.

It's 100% safe as long as you don't mess with whatever niBitor tells you is risky.
