Nice. I'll be trying my flash drive next time. I really hate having to pull my comp out and hook up a floopy drive to do my flashing.

I just was getting really upset about it because, half of all of the things to change the gpu bios are set for XP and the others aren't x64. These programs were the only ones that would even work.

I don't have XP, an x32 OS, or a floppy drive so basically I had to do something

I have created a bootable usb, and all seems to work well with the "nvflash -b backup01.rom" command line. It reads my cards, created a backup.

However when I try to do "nvflash -4 -5 -6 1.rom" or "nvflash -5 -6 1.rom" I get an error message of EERM or something similar....

If I try doing "nvflash -b -4 -5 -6 1.rom" it reads the cards and appears to do the update...

I am trying to up the voltage to 1.1, my bios are the the most recent and the only way to know if it was successful is if I can read the bios, nbitor gives me a "1275 driver" error message.

I guess I could make a new bios with preset overclock and flas to see if it changes the overclock to the cards...

Here is the method I am using to create a USB and flash...

Chickeninferno has been most helpful, but is also aware that the commandline "-b" is creating a backup and not actually flashing...

1.) Download Winimage
2.) Download BootDisk2BootStick
3.) Download DOS 6.0
4.) Download New Bios
5.) Download NvFlash
a.) Double click on nvflash.exe to unpack the real nvflash.exe and cwsdpmi.exe
6.) Install Winimage
7.) Open Winimage and open up boot600
8.) SaveAs Floppyimage.img
a. You have to select all file types and save it like that
9.) Open BootDisk2BootStick
10.) Click the WritetoUsbFlash Tab
11.) Select the Drive Letter for your Flash Drive
12.) Click Start
13.) Select our Floppyimage.img
a. We now have a bootable flashdrive
14.) Rename the New bios to 1.rom
15.) Copy 1.rom onto Flash Drive
16.) Copy cwsdpmi.exe and nvflash.exe onto Flash Drive
17.) Boot computer from flash drive
18.) Type in nvflash –b backup01.rom
19.) Type in nvflash -4 -5 -6 1.rom
20.) Reboot, You’re Finished

thanks in advance for any help...

Right after making a backup, I do a test flash with the original BIOS.

also try:
nvflash --protectoff
before doing your flash. This turns off flash protection some cards have.

Maybe i am doing something wrong when creating my usb flash drive...

I am getting an error message "supported EEPROM Not Found" whenever I do "nvflash -5 -6 1.rom" and "nvflash -4 -5 -6 1.rom"

When I did "nvflash --protectoff" it found the cards and turned it off successfully tho....

When I do "nvflash -b -4 -5 -6 1.rom" it makes a backup of the original bios and overwrites the 1.rom bios file....

GRRRRR

So close, yet so far away.....

How to get Boot 600 to open w/o a floopy dive? I even tried a virtual floopy and it wouldn't open.

I've never done this before but can't you set it in the BIOS, first boot> removable and it opens?

Opening boot600
Quote:

a. We now have a bootable flashdrive
It all worked.... Found the problem I was having as well... I needed an older version of nvflash nvflash 5.57 rather than 5.72 which is the newest...

I attached a file showng todays date on the bios reading by pcwiz as well as gpu-z showing my default cloacks at 625/925/1625 rather than the 600/900/1512 of the normal bios..

I also added the 1.1v to extra to account for any issues I have with my overclocking... Going to see how high I can push the cards now...

Thanks a bunch to Chickeninferno for the help with all of us 64 bit users...

mad rep to him!!!
