The evga 285 GTX SSC/FTW come with added pin bridging and higher vGpu/vMem. Stock cards run at 1.18v, the SSC/FTW cards run at 1.24-1.26v so flashing a vanilla card to SSC/FTW will only change clock freq and not voltages, the voltage change is done on the card itself. See the 285 volt modding page here

Darn, I was hoping that I'd be able to get a quick overclock this way.

SSC/FTW are usually pretested at higher overclocks. And just down right better clocking cards these things have OCP protection that will kick in long before 800/1700/1500 and only way to get past it is with a soldering gun... I am not doing it to my card either... heck, for $100 or so I can trade up to the 295 if I really need a faster card...

How to undervolt your GFX card so you can get better temps... but worse overclocks.
Needed programs: BIOS tools (NvFlash and NiBiTor) GPU-z
And you can use the flashing part for anything. Sorry... I didn't feel like rewriting the whole thing so you just have to go read the whole thing until you see the flashing part. :P

Like I thought. This doesn't work with the newer versions of nvflash. The one you have linked is for G80 and earlier cards. I tried it anyways.
