I flashed my G80 with it and my GTX280.

You should be fine... what are those commands for anyways?

--protectoff turns off flash protection.

--index can be used when flashing multi GPU insulations. For example, --index=1 to flash card in slot 1, --index=2 to flash card 2.

I run --portectoff to determine slot numbers. When you exe it, it displays a list of the cards installed.

So a cammand might look like this:

nvflash --index=1 -4 -5 -6 newBIOS.rom

SSC/FTW are usually pretested at higher overclocks. And just down right better clocking cards

these things have OCP protection that will kick in long before 800/1700/1500 and only way to get past it is with a soldering gun...

I am not doing it to my card either... heck, for $100 or so I can trade up to the 295 if I really need a faster card...
Bah, that sucks... Anyways, I'm running a 702/1600/1280 OC right now, if I OC the memory anymore I get a driver crash on the third graphics test on 3DMark06. However, it's odd because after OCing my 3DMark06 score went down approximately 100 points...

If you read the threads regarding the OC of the GTX series of cards you will find that
heat is more an issue than volts.

Jacking up the volts helps a little but not as much as keeping the GPU cool. Heat has a big impacted on how fast you will be able to run the shaders.

I will volt mod my 285 but not until I get my HC16 water block.

I can run my 285 base card at SSC speeds with out volt mods, FTW speeds are doable but the card quickly heats up and then locks up.

Count me in as another successful GTX 260 bios flash w/ settings edited using NiBiTor. I know it's a somewhat small bios-set OC, but from the 3D clock defaults of 575/1239/999 I now run 600/1293/1000.
Also, I edited the fan IC settings so I no longer have to manually set the fan speed from 45% to 60% for games/3D. I attached a SS.
In the past couple minutes the core temp has lowered to 44°C w/ 45% fan speed.
45% is the highest speed before I start to hear it so that's what I use for idle/2D clocks.

Edit: the fan gets up to 65% sometimes now, which is slightly louder than I'd like & it barely goes down a couple °C compared to 59-61% fan speed. Even though the heat w/ summer might be coming, perhaps I'll edit the fan speed IC & re-flash the bios to make the fan not pass 61%. Temps seldom hit 65°C.

Thanks for the guide!

Flashed the 7900GS to a 7900GT/GTO

650 Core / 850 Mem (Downloaded 7900GT BIOS, edited in NiBiTor and flashed using the USB trick)

BTW, you can use the USB trick on a 32 bit OS. (XP Pro SP3)

Well, the 650/850 was just for e-peen0r Very artifact'y)
