You have to read on your card's PCB to find the listed revision number. It will be printed in the PCB or on a sticker on the card somewheres.

I flashed by evga 8800gts 640 to a AC3 KO edition (640)...all seems well, but should I anticipate some problems? (I firmly believe they are the same exact cards, from binning GDDR to gpu to reference card...with the difference being the cooling and higher stock clocks).

KO edition's used to be the same as previous gen, just w/ better factory cooling solution. The AC3 is just some gimmick to 'bling' your graphics card...theres nothing special about them.

What actual changes were made with the BIOS swap? Just curious, because i dont see what would have been set differently. If you had flashed a 8800gts OC BIOS, then something might have actually been changed for the better...but really just modding the BIOS is the easiest way to flash for simple clock changes and such.

What were your default clock speeds...and what are they now? Also, did you run any benchies to see if there was any improvement in your change?

So say I want to flash my Leadtek 7900GS to an eVGA 7900GS KO edition, would it even raise the voltages or do I have to physically vmod the card to OC farther?

As far as I know, there is no difference in the clock speeds of those two cards. It would be a lot easier to mod your existing BIOS....and YES, you need to vmod' the card to raise the vcore to the GPU and RAM.

500 -----> 576 core
800 -----> 850 mem

so you think I should flash back to the original edited with nbitor...(I have never used it, so is it difficult to adjust base clock speeds...???)

furthermore...I assume that when you find your sweetspot on the OC you can than use nbitor to edit the bios to those clock frequencies

yes..the program is very user friendly. Your BIOS swap was a good choice, considering you are staying at factory voltages. I flashed my 7900 to start up at 650mhz core, 1950mhz mem, it goes nicely with the vmod's, [1.4v core and 2.18v mem, respectively]

nbitor is limited to frequencies and timings, right? The only way to increase gvcore and gvdimm would be to physically alter the reference board? I wouldnt take a soldiering iron to my gts just yet anyhow... not until prices come down some more and I have some more proactive (liquid) cooling anyhow...but the knowledge is interesting nonetheless.
