Default 8800gtx in SLI Under Vista?

Hey guys, I'm new here, and I am hoping to become a regular poster.

First off, a quick question if i may.

I recently purchased a second 8800gtx for my machine and installed it.

When i powered up, vista detected the hardware fine and installed drivers.
This meant i had to reinstall the nvidia 8800 series drivers.

Once this was done, i went to turn on sli in the nvidia control panel, and was asked to restart.

After restart, i check the nvidia panel and the box is set to "No not use SLI".

I have tried again but have not gotten any results. I have tried using the SLI bridge on both of the sli bridge parts of the card. Do i need 2x sli bride for this card? To be honest, i dont understand why there are two sli bridge connections on each card.

Is there any way i can remedy this and make use of my second 8800gtx? Is this a known issue?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Wow, thanks for such a quick response.
Does this mean no one has been able to get 8800gtx in SLI under vista?
Or have some people been fine?
Thanks again.

Right now, Nvidia is working on getting drivers for Vista. If you go look at their ads for SLi, they have a small print saying that they dont work for Vista.

Which drivers are you useing now? The 97.46 drivers didn't have SLi but the latest 100.64 do have SLi for the 8 series. I can't vouch for how effective or bug free they are but just be glad you're not me as there's no SLi support at all for the 7 series until sometime in March and my card needs it to run fully.

God damn you Nvidia is all I can say.

Well thats a great waste of 400 UK Pounds

I should have checked before i bought. :'(

Thanks for the information.
Cannot wait for those drivers!

Like I said, I hope to become a regualr on this forum, thanks again.
Dr_Placebo

Edit:
Also, may i ask, there are two parts on which you can attatch the SLI Bridge on the card, which do I have to use? None of the manuals say :S
DRP

Edit #2: Apparantly - "The second SLI connector on the GeForce 8800 GTX is hardware support for potential future enhancements in our SLI software functionality. With the current drivers, only one SLI connector is actually used. Users can plug the SLI connector into either the right or left set of SLI fingers."
