hey all
new here, sorry for digging up a oldish topic, but just been reading this whole thread, and some of the OC before volt mod are pretty low?

Ive got a ASUS EN7900GS. not sure what the memory is, eg 1.4ns, 1.1ns ext.

Standard my clocks are 450Mhz core, 650Mhz (1300Mhz effective) DDR3 memory.

Ive had it running at 600Mhz core, and 900Mhz (1800Mhz) for the last 8 months.
Ive got myself a 8800GT in its box waiting to go in now, but i think i might give the volt mod a go on the 7900GS first.
BTW i got the zalman VF900 cooler, max load at these temps is 40c with fan on full, fan on half, max temp is 48c

Thanks

Sounds like you have a prime specimen ready to mod then. You should be able to hit ~700+mhz on the core if you can keep your temps in check..do not push too much past 2ghz for mem speed either..volt mod or not..the RAM is only going so far before bad things happen [from experience..they do!].

See if you can break 12k on 3d 05 with it after you mod!

Maybe you could increase it to 9k ...My guess is the higher you clock the gpu, the more of a bottleneck your cpu will become. Although not by much ..those gpu's are pretty close to topping out after ~725mhz core..an OC on the CPU will help though.
