hey guys, need some help
__________________![]() So a while ago my 6800 started acting up, couldnt wrok my computer, couldnt even get into safe mode before it crashed, so I got a 7900gs for xmas, it worked fine for a couple of days, then the same thing started happening, so i did my best uninstalling drivers and such, but i htink ive messed up completly now, uninstalled drivers i shouldnt have, etc... Whats the best way going about resolving this problem? Clean slate? Any tips would be great! I think the problem was a clashing of video drivers, but since then i htink ive managed to delete the sound drivers on my pc aswell ![]() thanks in advance for any help you can give guys ![]()

Can Windows load? Try popping in the Windows installation CD and just let Windows repair itself, no need for a clean format/installation, that's if you don't mind. Also I would check if Windows detect any new hardware and install drivers for those ones again.

definitely test the psu! my buddy here at school lost his 7300gs while testing some errors with display; turns out the psu was frying itself. anyways, it turned out ok - ultra (psu) paid for replacement card and psu bc it was still within warranty...

__________________See I overclocked my 6800 but kept the same psu, never even thought thatd be a problem! Even when I upgraded to the 7900gs I didnt get a new psu cuz a dell technician came out cuz my mams laptop was broken, while he was here he fitted the new card and said there was no need to change the psu! damnnnnnnnn you dell, to hell! god im such a noobI kept the 6800 'cause when the same prob happened with the new card, I had a sneaking suspician the problem wasnt with card, i was sure it was the drivers wow that makes things a lot simpler, but at the same time, a lot more expensive ![]()

Its a Dell, get a cheaper PSU since you'll not be doing any OC'ing anyways.
By Cheaper I mean $50'ish so you won't fry anything with it
