Aside from lowering the overall temps, what is the point of overclocking the GTX now? Does it really improve gaming and real world applications that much? Or are you trying to attain better benchmarks?

I ask because I've got one coming and was just wondering what would be the benefits apart from running stock.

Also, does the BFG warranty void if I were to purchase this cooler for myself?

After playing Crysis I got a motivation to get more power out of this thing and yes, it does make a decent difference with the new more GPU-intensive games. Just increasing my GPU 575 to 621 gave me about 5-6 fps increase in World of Conflict and with games that average a low fps it can make a large difference in my opinion.

BTW, I took off my heatsink and added the ramsinks but forgot my AS5 so I need to go buya tube tomorrow. Not really sure how to apply the paste, I;ve only really done the line method for my C2D but this heatspeader is massive, i don;t knwo what to do.

nice vid tutorial for applying waterblock, should be same for all coolers though. looks like he spreads out the as5. Just remember, don't touch anywhere that you'll be applying the AS5 as it can hinder temps from oil, left over skin, etc. Mike

Tricky - According to this article, it sounds like its very similar to almost exactly like AS5, so if the price of ocz is cheaper than AS5 I would go with that.

I have one more question, the HR-03 is now an and I set it to a 660 core to get a real 648,hx measurement and 1566 on the shader and easily have 2100 on the ram. I have a feeling this thing can go much higher but i'm not one to ist a $600 card. It idles at 50 degrees at this speed and doesnt go over 66 degrees at full load. amazing cooler. I used to idle at 66 at 100% fan speed and at load get up to 95.

Ok, so now I want to get my overclock into the firmware of the card. I am using nibitor and trying to set the clocks. doesn;t anyone who knows about the strapping tried this? do I still put the clock speed to 660 to get 648mhz and 1566 shader, or do I input the values manually?? Also, does it work if I add in values for the 2D setting? I always appreciate the help

Try and put 660 manually. See what hapens, if it loads at 660, then great. BTW, can you OC higher than 648?

what i dont get it why people think because they put a better cooler on they are gonna get better clocks maybe someone can explain this thought to me

Because some people are temperature limited and dont know how much they can push their card with a better cooler.
