the 169.04 drivers killed my fps and scores. 3dmark dropped to 14613 from 16041,
all other settings the same.

Is there are real difference between OCed and non-OCed cards? If i can do the overclocking myself I'll buy the base model. I have an eVGA superclocked on order but I will cancel it because I can get an XFX NOW! Please respond quickly before the damn thing is gone!

Just get the plain version and overclock it yourself.

Hi. I am new to this forum. I have just bought the sparkle geforce 8800 gt 512 mb. Well i actually bought the nvidea version but they sent me the sparkle one. As far as i can gather it's not the oc card, i have not put it into my pc as yet as i really wanted to see what other people's views were on the card.
Is the sparkle brand a good make ?, to be honest i have very little experience when it comes to these matters. Will it perform as good as the other makes of the same cards. Your replies will be greatly received. Thanks in advance.

Just some quick out of the box testing. I just set it to the stock speed of the fastest GT.
This is higher than the score with my system at 3.7GHz and my GTS overclocked to the MAX.
I can't crank up my CPU much until I get my WC in though. I can't wait to see what I get with the GPU and CPU under water hah.

That's almost 2k drop. I will left the original score alone until you want to change because you did get that score.
