Vadim's universal GPU block gets 8800GT module

EARLIER, WE reported that Vadim Computers, a small UK enthusiast PC manufacturer was coming to market with a universal GPU block. This block is designed in such a way that it does not matter what GPU it is bolted on, aluminium plates keep the compatibility up with a broad spectrum of cards.


8800GT plate is quite small and light...

Vadim has and sent us pictures of its 8800GT aluminium plate, which can be simply bolted with Blastflow Siberian GPU block, followed by mounting onto the card itself.

We have seen the Blastflow in action and this GPU block is quite an impressive one - we have completed the run on Zotac's 8800GTX and now we're running tests on XFX 8800Ultra, and Gainward's 8800GT.

As soon as we complete this ménage-a-quatre we'll run the review. So far, Zotac's 8800GTX went from already bloody impressive 630MHz (faster than 8800Ultra default clock) all the way to 710MHz, with memory working from 1GHz to 1.25GHz DDR. Results in this configuration are really impressive, but we are interested in what the 8800GT can do. We've seen a 700MHz GPU clock and 1GHz DDR memory clock on a single slot design from Zotac, so seeing this block on should yield with interesting results.


This is how Blasflow looks assembled, this time in GTX/Ultra variant

The price is in the 90 quid (180 USD) range, with aluminium plates cost at 20 quid each. On the other hand, this block is a one-time investment, since it is much cheaper to get a new aluminium or copper plate for new board.
Blastflow Siberian 8800GT edition should be available this coming Wednesday.

My 8800GT just came a few hours ago. Heres some pics comparing it to the 8800GTS. My card came superclocked as well, even though I thought I just bought a vanilla from Fry's online . Also I included a 3dmark06 score at the bottom. This was in Windows XP at 700/1753/1000 with the 169.04's. My CPU was at 3.6ghz.
