Thank you so much for creating this thread. All of this information is EXTREMELY USEFUL. I just purchased the MSI OC Shader 8800 GT and will be buying the Thermalright HR-03GT cooler for it as well. Thanks!

I didn't take any pictures, I was far too excited to just put it in and get gaming. I did some quick testing first with ATiTool to check the heat. On the default fan speed of 28% I think, it got to 90 degrees.

The load/idle temps above are at 50% fanspeed, it's just barely audible.
I have a temp sensor in my case, just below the GFX card, that is reading 37 degrees right now. 6 degrees hotter than with my 7600GT.

Crysis runs silky smooth @ 1280x1024 on high settings.

I will run 3DMark06 later.

Below is a screenshot for proof.

*edit*

Here is my 3DMark06 score. Very disappointing I have to say, but that's because of my CPU.

How should a single GT play Crysis DX9 with the Very High tweak at 1680x1050? What about SLI?

I'm interested because idk if I should wait for a second 8800GT before I get Crysis...

Try the SP3 beta... You will be suprised at the increase.

Also guys, read the tweak guides and look for the Texture streaming and Texture loading options... When you force the game to turn off texture streaming and load all the graphics into the cards memory at the start of the game, the game plays SO much better.

Or just do this. create a system.cfg text file, and add these two lines to it, throw it into the \Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis directory.

e_precache_level = 1
r_TexturesStreaming = 0

Let me know if you notice the difference. I did, only stutters a couple times at first start and then its smooth sailing until the next level. It takes longer to load though.
