Hey everyone! Just installed my 8800GT 256mb tonight, got 10,416 on stock video clocks and E6300 @ 3.15ghz.

Now, I seem to have found my maximum overclock with ATI Tool at about 700/1062, but I have a couple questions.

1. Where the heck can I change the voltage on this thing? Or does it require a vmod?
2. Should I use rivatuner or something else to OC? I heard that the shaders were OCable as well, but that's not an option in ATI Tool.

Thanks!

1. Unfortunately, unlike ATi cards, you can't change the voltage through softare unless you do a bios flash, but so far you can only up the voltage very little. I can't wait for a volt mod so I can really see what my card is made of.

2. If you use rivatuner, then yes you can overclock the shaders.

Ok, looks like my OCing got me another 2000 points... up to 12,285 now. I might give rivatuner a try and try to OC the shaders.

Another thing I'm confused about... I heard rumors that this card was super hot, but at my current OC, I ran through the complete 3dMark06, and temps never went above 61c. That's darn good if you ask me... is it because it's an XFX?

And finally, I just thought it was funny, but I think I'm just about the first to bench a 256mb in 3dmark06. In the "All NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT256 MB Results" part, it doesn't show any projects. 0. None. Nil. That's not normal right? Same thing with "All Results with Similar System".

I scored better than 95% of all systems.

thansk guys seems like mines the smaller one, which is weird cause i thought that XFX shipped the bigger fan from release date so nobody should have a XFX with the smaller fan.

does anyone know if XFX would send me the revised one if i tell them its getting too hot, my brothers only goes to 55c full load and he has the smaller fan too, and its only running 50% so not loud or hot at all but i wouldnt mind that extra few degree's
