They are about the same at same speeds (the GT is a bit faster).

But you can overclock your GT by 15-20% so it will be faster anyways.

I think the speeds on the GT are naturally faster than the GTS SSC due to the newer G92 chip. So imo its like a beefy older card compared to a modest newer card. I am waiting for the moment to step-up, since GTs are on backorder anyways, and newer models are bound to pop up before ATI's stuff rolls around. If you can't, find the one that performs best at the resolutions that you normally play on.

I bet as a side effect of this evga will start selling old GTS's for DIRT cheap.

Anyone else agree?

They'll have tons of them.

It slammed Assassin's Creed's head onto the curb then stomped its head into that curb until it was nothing but a bloody pulp. This card is one bad mo-fo. It'll backhand your sister and degrade your mom, but they will still love it and want to date it because it is just that good. I love this card so much that I burned my tongue trying to french kiss it, and I still keep trying.

The GTS is going to be a G92 as well, isn't it?

gotta remember, i've read lots of posts that the gt doesn't fair off that well with higher resolutions. So those of you who are trading their gts's for it might want to consider that before stepping up. Mike

The next GTS is supposed to be G92, though, right? Its not proven, but alot of ppl think its a pretty good rumor.

Heh, what WILL they do with all these? Their only option is to lower the price at a later date. They might keep up the 96+ SP designation to confuse consumers.

My theory is that they are banking on getting more gamers in "Camp Nvidia" when ATI comes around, and dealing with the expenses. Looking at the GT there is clearly room to improve the 8800, so this next revision may give them some more breathing room at the top.
