I realize that this is posted in other threads, but I wanted to make one devoted just for this for exposure. I got the 8800 with a system a month ago and was shocked when I saw the performance gains of the 8800GT over the GTS.
__________________If you have an EVGA 8800, and it has been within 90 days of purchase, you MUST step-up to the GT. Yeah, I know its $140 cheaper, blah blah blah..., but it is better not only in terms of speed but also in features. Has some extra HD movie features. Go here: http://evga.com/stepup/systemvendor/ If you're on the list, or bought it retail, you're golden. Register, fill out a form, and wait for a reply. I just saw some people on ebay asking el cheapo prices for the card(~$200), where you can do this and get retail for your card, which is put down towards the GT. Your "leftover" is wasted though. Then, its only like $19 for the up[down?]grade. EDIT: Better yet, I think I'm going to wait it out for the GTS Rev. 02...

No, they trade you straight up. Which sucks that you spent more money on a GTS but thats how technology goes. Better and cheaper over time.

Has anyone seen reviews of these cards versus GTS' at equal clock speeds? I think the results are extremely swayed because they're shipping the GT at much higher clocks. If that's true and the GT doesn't overclock any higher than the GTS, there shouldn't be much difference at all.

The "newer" GTS by EVGA (the SSC something or other) has 112 shader ports, the same as the GT, which should narrow the gap considerably. But...if its released on the smaller, more efficient G92 config then I would expect to see the GTS>>GT. Especially if its bumped up to 128 SP.
