Default ECS Offers GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo With Arctic Cooling S1

Quote:
Elitegroup Computer Systems or Elitegroup for short released today its latest GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo graphics card. Compared to other NVIDIA 8800GT competitors, ECS N8800GT Dual Turbo version adopts Arctic Cooling's S1 heatsink. S1 has increased surface of heat dissipation around thirty times larger than the stock GeForce 8800GT cooling, which makes the cooler extremely efficient. Furthermore, ECS 8800GT Dual Turbo Version Graphics Card is equipped with two high performance low-noise fans. According to ECS, this type of cooling lowers the operating temps under load vastly, from 91°C for the regular cooling down to 64°C for the AC S1 GeForce 8800GT Dual Turbo. Temps are measured while running 3DMark05.

From personal experience, ECS customer support sucks.... not buying from them again...

The fans and the black ECS line of plastic makes the HSF look like some weird face

[/random stupid comment]

The S1 is a pretty good cooler and with fans it's better. I wonder if the 8800GT can run well without the fans

You can get the same results by increasing the fan speed manually to 60% ( plus doing the fan speed setting in the Guru3d.com rivatuner guide).

Or you can just get a Duorb or ND-01, remove the high speed, exposed, and dangerous fans and get sub-50 C load temps.

If you are looking for a cheap motherboard, then ECS is not a bad option.

If you want a good high end video card, ECS is not an option at all. They cannot be trusted to deliver the physical specs that they publish. Yes I have intimate experience with them and I will never be intimate with them again! LOL!
