ever wondered how to set auto fan profile, and not have any application running in the background? ever thought of "there's got to be a way to change those values" when you see the Rivatuner's low level fan auto control window?
__________________well, here's how to set the auto fan control, and close Rivatuner you'll need: (i used these versions for this post) -Rivatuner (2.06) -a kick a$$ graphics card (FYI, i have Point of View 8800GTX)-latest driver (169.25) the steps: 1. Install the driver, and Rivatuner first, lol. 2. go to Rivatuner "Power User" page, and find "Rivatuner\Fan", clock the + next to it 3. change value of "AutoFanSpeedControl" to 3 (this allows us to change the auto fan controller settings in the low level fan control window 4. go to "Low level system tweaks" page, "Fan" tab 5. now set the values for the auto fan control, don't forget to save it as a profile, and Apply Fan Settings at Windows Startup. to calculate the values and what those value means, here's a explanation: D min = minimum duty cycle D max = maximum duty cycle T min = minimum temperature (it's the lower limit when the graphics cards is operating, fan duty cycle will stick to Dmin when temp goes below this) T rage = the range of temperature graphics card is expected to work at. (this variable have straps) use this to find its value Quote:
set those to the following to disable dynamic change of Tmin: 110/0/110 above is my understanding of this post, if you are interested so, for my 8800GTX (@ 621/1512/1900), i used the following value: Dmin = 54 Dmax = 100 Tmin = 52 Trange = 53 so at idle, ~60c it spins under 60%, and over my range, it goes up as high as 85, where at 80, it goes to about nearly 100%. i'd say this is much better than nVidia's default, where the fan don't change much unless over 75c. ![]() good luck with this, hope you have a cooler graphics card ps. didn't know how to post in FAQ section.... so posted here, please move if required.

I would imagine so. Just try it out, its simple. If you mess up the values you can always revert to default
