I had the same problem a couple months back. After I shutdown and went to restart I got everything but video.
Someone here suggested I reset cmos with the jumper, unplug the power cord from the PSU and remove the motherboard battery and leave it out over night. Well I couldn't wait and after 4 hours I put it all back the right way and it has worked fine since. Cant hurt to give that a try.. Good Luck...

Yeah the battery on mine was fun to get to also. Had to remove the bottom video card. Our boards are about same, yours is the SLI and mine is the Crossfire version.
Hope it works for ya

PCI video card would work.
How long have you had that MB? I think my PCI slots are dead and I called Asus today to RMA it back to them for repairs or replacement. May want to give them a call.

Do you get any lights on your monitor (ie yellow for standy and\or green when video should kick in)? Most monitors have a fuse in them which can be "popped". If you're getting no lights on the front of the monitor this would be my guess.
If not i'd say try another GPU, could be yours, also could be chipcreap so pulling and reinstalling you vid card may help.
