The GeForce 9 Series GPU Info Thread

VR-Zone has gotten some preliminary 3DMark06 scores on the upcoming GeForce 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX cards. The setup : Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66GHz processor on a P965 board with Forceware 173.67 drivers and Catalyst driver version 8.451. GeForce 9800 GX2 scored 14225, 9800 GTX scored 13167 while Radeon HD 3870 X2 scored 14301. Nvidia is still tuning up the drivers and the clock speeds aren't finalized yet so we should be seeing some improvements when launched. Currently, 9800 GX2 is slated for March 18th launch while 9800 GTX is slated for end March.

I know. This whole first-to-have-a-review-so-we-won't-do-any-tweaking deal is really bugging me. In all honesty I'm sure most of us could get a nice, stable OC in the run of about an hour. There's no reason why these review sites can't do the same.

With the exception of the Quake 4 test being flawed this is more like it! Overclocked and compared to other cards although I noticed that the 3850 and 3870 are left out.

It only stands to reason that Zotac is using the same components as the rest of the manufacturer's that are using reference boards so I don't see why BFG, EVGA or XFX models couldn't reach teh same frequencies and pump out the same scores.

Granted, this is in 3DMark05 and not 06 but hey, it gives you a good idea of what we can expect.

The KFA2 is still looking attractive to me. Lins, have you had any problems with your 8800GT? The warranty of Galaxy scares the hell out of me. That's why I have an XFX.

It works fine. I back it down to 715/1830/995.
