So the new lineup will look like this. GeForce 9500 is the low end, 9600GT is mainstream, GeForce 9800 GTS is Performance, GeForce 9800 GTX is high end and finally the GeForce 9800 GX2 is the ultra high-end.
So the GX2 is the ultra high end card? I thought the GTX's specs had it beat? Oh man, I'm lost

I've said this in a few places but I'm wondering if the manufacturers have made it so the cards will only run at the specs they set out? Any additional overclock and it will run stable but won't run properly.

Also would the 2 phase power design be the cause because the Galaxy aka KFA2 has a 3 phase.

I've been having problems OCing my card to.
I can't up the RAM farther then 908Mhz, I started to lose points in 3Dmark. However, I was able to get my core to 765Mhz, while still scoring higher in 3Dmark. But I wasn't able to play Crysis more then 20mins before my system restarted.

My other issue so far is with Quake Wars. I can't even play the game. I'll connect to a server, and right when I'd see the Map/Game for the first time, Quake Wars shuts down. With my 7800gt installed, I don't have this problem.
So I'm pretty sure it's the drivers.
Hopefully Nvidia will release a fix soon. I'm currently on the 174.16 beta drivers.

This is of interest about the 9800GTX:

Quote:
Today Fudzilla said the the price of 9800GTX will be €399, and giving a wrong spec(graphic memory:768MB). So maybe it is time to re-info the basic spec of the card again.

Well, that pretty much proves that they are going to up the core voltage again. The GT is 1.05/1.1v and the GTS is 1.15v, so with those power figures, I'm betting 1.2v on the 9800GTX.

Should mean higher OCs without vmodding. I'd gess most of them will do 800MHz+ core 1900MHz+ shader, as long as you can cool em (stock cooler at 70-80% should suffice).

What's weird is that review websites are able to get their overclocks to produce some performance gains and they would be using beta drivers too so what's the deal with the ones that OCN members are getting?

I hope you're right though.

It would be foolish for nVidia to follow up the 8800GT with a card that doesn't overclock. People would be pissed.

I finally got my issues worked out. I'm not sure exactly what I did. I tried installing my old 7800gt in another PCI-E slot (which didn't work) and ended up removing all the Nvidia display drivers in the process of uninstalling. I loaded the drivers that came with card, and all of a sudden all is well.
No BSOD's. NO artifacts, everything works.
I don't understand it, but if anyone else is having issues, you might try the 171.16 drivers. They seem to be working good for me.
