They should be.
Plus I didn't think anything short of 174.xx would work with the 9600GT?

My 9600GT was shipping with 171.16. I did the same thing. I was having issues with an OpenGL game that now plays fine.

I'm a new 9 series owner... LOTS of great information here that I plan to read through. As of right now I'm clocking a 9600GT at 750/2050 and I think I have about 25-50 MHz easily to spare for both core and memory. I'll let you all know my progress as it may be helpful for those deciding whether or not to join the club
__________________![]() EDIT: Here's my full info for the owners list-- Model: 512-P3-N867-AR MFG: eVGA Stock/Overclocked Core: 740/750 Stock/Overclocked Memory: 900/1025 Stock/Overclocked Shader: 1835/1835 SLI: N CPU: Q6600 G0 @ 3.2GHz RAM: mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) Mobo: abit IP35 Pro 3DMark: I haven't run it with the intention of remembering, or on a fresh reboot for that matter (I ran it last night after a 6 hour gaming session...), but got somewhere in 11000-11500 range, I think about 11350... I'll run it again tonight on a fresh reboot and post my updated score. OS: Vista x64 One thing I want to point out, is that compared to the other owners on the list, is that it looks like eVGA really pushed the shader clock quite a bit with the SSC revision of the card. Most of you are running at 1675, but it looks as though you could easily get another 100MHz, depending on how temperamental your specific card feels like being. Mine's 160MHz over "stock" and runs flawlessly.

The 9800 series specs look fantastic on paper, but I've heard some terrible things about the actual performance benchmarks, 9800GTX specifically. The GX2 is apparently v.good. (Although I haven't seen many from reliable original sources yet).
__________________The GTX performance must be driver related right? I've also heard reports that the next series could be up for release in the near future. Again unreliable sources on that one. If this is true, it would probably be worth waiting. What do you think?
