Only $449 for the new 9800GX2

This means I'm only going to have to spend another $125 to get this card. I was a little scared that this graphics card was going to be around $600+.

I think the price will be much higher than $449. I won’t be surprised around $550 or higher when it comes out.

LOL at the people that think the 9800GX2 is only going to cost $449, even the 8800GTX Ultra cost's around $650-800 right now.

Well the ultra costs that for the same reason a 8800gts 320 costs a decent amount still.

i do not think a 450 msrp is that crazy.. If this was there new flagship with new core and alot of innovation they could sell it for 700+.. however, it is not.. while it is a new flagship.. it isnt very new and i would think that would be taken into account.

Also if the 3780x2 is coming out close to the same time that is another reason it might be cheaper..

Could be all wrong just a little speculation.

Questions that im still looking for answers to..
What is new about the 9800gtx? memory?
9800gx2 support for dual monitors?
9800gx2 new way of memory use?

9600GT has 64 shader units not 128 (the last specs I looked at that is). It's a low end card.

650 MHz core clock and a 1625 MHz unified shader clock on the GPU 900 MHz memory clock.

It'd fit into my Cosmos with room to spare!

I could get a 14" card to fit I'm pretty sure.

Yups. The 8600GT/GTS will be replaced by 9600GT.
I used the one in tcMagine. Thanks the information. We should have some official information from nVidia in late Jan. I am going to update it now.
