Vadim Launches 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX Modular Cooling Plates
Quote:
The British computer and watercooling manufacturer Vadim Computers has prepared two cooling plates for the recently released NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 and GeForce 9800 GTX graphics cards. The 9800 GTX plate comes in handy when paired with Vadim's BlastFlow water block. Once combined both pieces create a full cover waterblock that cools the memory, VRMs and other hot parts of the card. The plate (BFC9800GTX512) is priced at $49. The second BlastFlow Siberian kit fits on the Blastflow Siberian Rev2 VGA block to form a complete cooling solution for the GeForce 9800GX2 cards. It consists of a Blastflow copper top cover for the second GPU and 2x cooling plates for the memory and VRMs on both sides of the sandwich card. The BlastFlow Siberian 9800GX2 kit is currently available in limited quantities for $115.

Besides the core speed and 12 more SPs, the 9800GTX is identical to your 8800GT.

Zotac announces 9800 GTX AMP! Edition

Quote:
An email from Zotac just arrived in our inbox announcing its newest graphics card, the GeForce 9800 GTX AMP! Edition.

It comes with all the usual 9800 GTX features except of course the AMP! Edition part means that it comes with a boost in performance via some factory overclocking.

A regular 9800 GTX reference cards includes a core clock speed of 675MHz, shader clock speed of 1688MHz and memory speed of 2200MHz DDR.

The AMP! Edition from Zotac features a core clock speed of 750MHz, shader clock speed of 1890MHz and memory speed of 2300MHz DDR. Zotac also throw in a free full version game for good measure, too. It’s a little slower than the overclock Shane managed to achieve in our latest article but still good increase.

HONG KONG – Apr. 8, 2008 – ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd., an award-winning NVIDIA AIC, today announced it has raised the single GPU performance bar even higher with the new ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX AMP! Edition. Based on NVIDIA’s GeForce 9800 GTX graphics processor, the ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX AMP! Edition gives the GPU an extra shot of performance with supercharged core, memory and shader clock speeds.

The ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX AMP! Edition increases the core clock by 11-percent to 750 MHz for a healthy performance boost in DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.1 based 3D games and applications. Memory performance also receives a 5-percent increase to 2.3 GHz to assist the increased graphics power.

Lot'a of hinting to the 9900 cards being annouced soon. I saw somewhere it saying April 10th annoucement with a July release. Here are just a couple links.

Hopefully this new core not a revised core will give the 9 series the ammount of jump from 8-9 series that we saw from 7-8 series cards. Though, if it's a larger die like the G80 we'll be looking at some steady price tags.

We already know that it's just another G92 revision with the same 256bit interface and 512MB of vRAM.
