Default 9800 GX2 Not all its cracked up to be? Well heres the benchmarks

Just found this posted on Engadget, here ,looks like the 9800 GX2 isnt gonna be badass everyone is thinking. Hopefully the drivers the are talking about help it out.

Personally I think im gonna wait

It's a bit underwhelming, but I'll wait to see if the new drivers make much of a difference before I get too disappointed.

I am not shocked its a redone G92, they should have come out with something new. The 9 series just feels like a relabeled 8 series, like "here look we have shiny new, you like to buy shiny new"...color me unimpressed.

i agree lemans, i mean i know the low end 9xxx cards shouldnt be that much better than the high end 8xxx cards, but it should best it in every test at least

Man they have to get whoever is responsible for determining model names for the last few launches through rehab. Things made a lot of sense until the G80 to G92 transition.

Articles like this should always be taken with a grain of salt. In the day of release first, optimize driver later, I would be much more interested in seeing this test on lauch +1 month.

On the far shot that this is close to what we can expect...whoops Nvidia! People that are SLi ready are far better off going with a pair of G92s and us single-slot people will find a much better value in the 3870x2.
