On my Crysis Cruncher rig, it cools a QX6850 and 3 8800 superclocked ultras...it keeps tthe temps below 50'c. so it seems to be doing something right....it doesn't however look as radical as some of the other options though.

Other than that nice rig.

I doubt it would perform better than air cooling, if you have the cash to spend there's no reason not to go with a custom loop.

Basically sums up my question:

A: You have 2 retardedly expensive/amazing rigs...........
Why would you go uber cheap on your WC? Youd think youd go for the best of the best, same goes for your case......
B: Can you elaborate on teh Crysis Cruncher? and whats in it?

Didn't someone hit a record for 32,000 in 3dMark06?

How is this rig barely pushing 18,000? Can't a single 3870x2 get that?

Me thinks driver issues

My bet is driver related aswell. Very nice rig, but talk about OVERKILL Enjoy it.

Also when you score the 18,000 what was your CPUs clocked at? Sounds very low.

Well even then with an extreme at stock speeds (I think 3.0?) theres no way in hell he should've been getting 18,000 lol

The stock speeds on those CPU's are 3.2 GHz. This has already been said, but 3.2 GHz and 2 9800GX2's in Quad SLI using VERY immature drivers (Which will actually produce a lower than if he were just using a single GX2) producing a score of ~18k sounds about right.

That was with dice or nitrogen I think.

And yes ATI cards are horribly biased in 3DMark06, even though nvidia walks all over them.

Yeah 18k is too low. I get 17.8k with a single air cooled Q6600 at 3.3 and two 8800 GTX's at stock speeds with stock coolers! And that's running 24/7.

I would expect at least 23k+.

Very nice rig I must say. But.. It's far to much to pay for the performance, just doesn't work out to be a wise investment imo.
