Gollie & ghost: If you've been following the hardware news section, the drivers for Quad-SLI have not yet been released. Thus, two 9800GX2s, not optimized, will often score lower than one 9800GX2.

Benchmarks like 3D06 are not a fair test of this rig. CineBenchR10 POV RayTrace...stuff like that will show what 8 cores can do.

P.S Why isnt the POVRay bench more popular on OCN? it's a fantastic a fantastic pure speed and SSE test. And makes a sweet looking bowl

all that and you only get 189XX in 3dmark06? i get that with a single 3870x2 and a q6600.

I don't know if you've taken a look at CyberDruid's Skulltrail build or not, but you can find it Here ... Probably similar cost, but I bet a lot more effective even on an Internal mounted system.

Also, 5.9 on vista ratings? My friend gets 5.8 with a E6750 OCed to 3.73 and a stock 8800gtx w/ 4gbs of ram. Wierd.
