3870 for sure, if you can find it cheap enough, the 8800 gts is a great card and has treated me well but it's getting dated quickly, the 3870 is still a powerful card and is newer and has more ram, go for the 3870 my friend.

Go for the 8800GS. I am getting one soon. Then we can start a 8800GS club.

Definitely the 8800gts (g80). It is currently dirt cheap over at newegg.

eVGA

The XFX one doesn't have fan control so it spins 100% all the time

It's a good thing to hear that it's a significant upgrade from a similar 79x0 card.

And how does it run Oblivion (if you have it). I have it for PC and Xbox and just play the xbox version because the PC version drops frames every few seconds for me.
Well I have a Antec 900 with all the fans on high in my living room so the fact that the video card (yes the same as link) fan spins 100% 24/7 is not a big problem for me. However, you can hear it start up and it is fairly audible.

This review at Expreview shows the 8800GS 384MB performs better, on average, than the 3850 256MB. (They are fairly close though.)
