Right now I'm getting 16,544 points and I'm overclocked to 815/1115/2036 on my EVGA 8800GTS G92 @100% fan speed. My PCI-e settings for my graphics card is at 100MHz and I'm wondering if this would help stabilize it during higher overclocking runs? My 4 gigs of OCZ Reaper 2x2 1066 kit is running at 1125MHz and my Q6660 Go is running at a rock solid 3.6GHz without any problems or stability issues. I'm wanting to get over a 17,000 3DMark06 score but I'm really not for sure which components I should push further.

I think the best thing to do would be to push the OC on the Q6600 to 3.7 or so. That should give you the extra 500 points you need. Also, try to minimize more background processes and maybe push the OC on the card a little more. Right now though, the biggest point increases will be from OC'ing the cpu.

If anything. Make it a semi-suicide. Run it with a bit more voltage than you would for 24/7 and back it down once you are done.

I'm really not for sure about that one.....I know Prime95 runs up to 66-68 degrees Celcius.

Wack the V Core up to 1.50 and rank up the FSB some more and see if you can run 3.8 of something. Then back down to normal when u have finished.

CPU speed is key, as has been stated. I would try to crank it up as 3dmark shouldn't get the temps as high as a stress test, so you may be save for that alone. Thats the problem with 3dmakr. I am running mine at 3.6 and 774/1944/1098 and I get 16160. It is kinda silly that an increase in GFX OC doesn't help as much an increase in CPU.

I was able to post into Windows @ 3.8 with a CPU Core of 1.45 volts and the V Core at 1.5 but when I tried running 3DMark06 it froze about 20 seconds into it.

try going one notch over 1.5 just for that run, it wont hurt the CPU. Also back down the clocks on the mem and jack up the shader clock more since thats what affects the 3Dmark the most.
