I did not touch the actual heatsink its self on the card, just a small chunk of the plastic around it. Even still thought at idle and under load the card stays withen normal ranges I think, i see some people report stock idle of 63c...Right now i am seeing 60c at idle, and maybe 65-69 under load. Not great...But not bad for a case with zero extra fans, and a "modded" aircowl on the GPU

Ha! thanks for keeping it posted so more people could laugh at me

Anyway i made allot of changes today.

new power supply 500w with with 36Amps on line 12.
(the box says the card only calls for 26amps.)

New CPU: Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4200+

2 new 80mm fans.

ill post pics here soon.

Also since these upgrades, my stock fan witch is 3 times the size of the 80mm....Has decided to crank its self up to 100% it sounds like a jet..why did this happen? its rather loud.

Dude that mod is sketch beyond belief and totally voids the warranty... If EVGA got that card back they would be like "Go f*** yourself we're not refunding that or replacing it, damn it!"

Also why would you add a 8800GTS to a Dell unless it's a reasonable model which will have a reasonable layout.

The video card heatsink is damaged. There's nothing you can do there.

SOMEHOW mod AT LEAST an 80mm fan to the rear of the case as an exhaust fan. Be creative with your cutting here...just don't cut anything except the case.

And welcome to OCN! I'm sorry for the rude awakening bud, lol. Most of the damage you have done can be fixed fairly cheaply, but you'll have to be creative and take some time on it though.

ALSO...get a better power supply. I'd recommend AT LEAST an Antec 500w Earthwatts power supply or better for your setup.
He cant.
The shroud is whast holds the heatsink against the processor.

I admire your guts....I don't really see it as a problem. How is it any worse than someone who loses their stock GPU cooler. Any benchies. how's your 3dmark now. Also does the mobo have stock AM2 mounts. If it does, I would get a freezer 64 pro.
