The 8800GTS is a dual slot card because it was based off of the bigger hotter running (G80) core.. The 8800GT generates much les heat because of the latest and greated second Generation Direct X 10 (G92) Core thus making way less heat.

It was cheaper, I had a small budget, ermm...I had no idea what i was doing...somebody I thought did have an idea who advised me and what to get and do is turning out to be wrong at sevral turns.


So yeah I am here now, asking you guys questions. and getting some good info.

I express again, read post #30 . You might also want to invest in something similar to a Zalman VF900 for the video card...just in case your heatsink is screwed up on it as well.

I second that. You coudl have severely hurt that card. And I will not tollerate Card abuse!
